Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I do if my search term does not appear?

1) check the spelling of your search terms
2) check the help page for more information about using the search.
3) use the contact form and I will attempt to help you find what you're looking for.

Q: Will you be adding more sites in the future?

A: Yes, I continue to look for good sites to index.  You can now use the Submit Form to submit a site for evaluation. From my understanding of what I read regarding this search engine, I am at about 80% optimal capacity in the index.  If the index increases in size very much past 100% optimal capacity performance begins to decline rapidly.

Q: Have some words been excluded from the index?

A: Yes, Common words and characters such as "where" and "how", as well as certain single digits and single letters, have been removed because they tend to slow down your search without improving the results.

Q: What are the numbers next to the links on the results page?

A: The closer the number is to 100%, the better match for your search term.

Q: What are the categories?

A: This is a way to group the links according to content.  This allows for searching within a certain group of sites while excluding others.  Sites can appear in more than one category.

Q: What does the pages indexed number mean?

A: This is a number to give a general idea of the size of the web site.  The largest site in the index which is the Truth Magazine Archives, has in excess of 12,700 web pages indexed.

Q: What if I don't want my site to be indexed?

A: The easiest way to prevent your site from being indexed is by modifying your robots.txt file.  For more information see: Web Robots Pages.  In addition, you can also modify the meta tags to prevent individual documents from being indexed.  Almost all search engines will respect these exclusions.

Q: Is there a charge to be in the index?

A: Sites are not charged any fees for appearing in the index.  I have chosen to be personally responsible for all costs associated with the web site.

Q: How did you choose the sites to be indexed?

A: The sites that have been indexed were chosen for their content.  I have not attempted to index every site created by brethren, the index would simply be too large to be useful.   My goal is to provide links to the widest possible array of subjects.  The larger the index, the longer the searches will take.

Q: Is this site Up-to-date?

A: The current plan is to re-index every site at least every month, many sites are re-indexed weekly.
